Cement plant "makes no sense at all"

A long editorial in the October 7, 2002 New York Times blasts the proposed St. Lawrence Cement plant. "The plant is inappropriate, and Gov. George Pataki and his environmental conservation commissioner, Erin Crotty, must stop it," the Times writes. "To build a coal-burning cement plant right on the Hudson makes no sense at all."
